Bit late on the Bandwagon...

Well it's better late than never, I suppose! It's been a while since I did a beauty post, so here is my first beauty post of 2013!

Recently, I got the Real Techniques core collection make-up brushes and I can not rave about them enough. I got them from Boots for £21.99 and they are worth every penny and more. On the blogesphere, these brushes are like the affordable holy grail and are so hyped up, so I didn't know if I should buy into the hype. But since I've bought them I haven't looked back.

The set consists of 4 brushes: detailer brush (use for concealer), pointed foundation brush (liquid foundation), buffing brush (powder foundation) and then a contour brush (blusher, highlighter...). They all come in a handy panoramic case.

Detailer brush

A thin, long brush perfect for both powder concealer and liquid. It's firm and soft, so it isn't too hard, but holds quite a lot of product, so you get as much out of your product as possible. It leaves a flawless result and really blends product into the skin.

Pointed Foundation brush

A firm, thick brush used for creamy and liquid foundations. Using this bush leaves a flawless base without looking caked and again spreads the product evenly and softly all over your face.

Buffing Brush

This is the thickest brush and the one I use to apply my powder foundation over my liquid base. It also would be perfect for applying translucent or setting powders. It buffs the product softly into your face, leaving a natural finish.

Contour Brush

This is probably the brush I would use least as I don't wear blusher a lot, but I'm hoping to be a regular highlighter wearer soon, so it will probably be getting a lot more outings  This brush is perfect for using just above your cheekbones to apply powder and mineral blushers and highlighters, blending them into your base so it doesn't look unnatural or over done.

Overall, as you can tell I love these brushes and for the price I can't recommend them enough.

What do you think of Real Techniques brushes? What are your favourite brushes?

  36. I LOVE Real Techniques brushes! I have the powder brush which is so soft and fluffy for lightly setting my foundation. I also have the stippling brush which I used to use for foundation and really liked, but swapped for the sigma flat kabuki (which is beyond amazing), so now I use it for concealer under my eyes and absolutely works a treat! It's amazing how much difference a set of good brushes makes :) x

  60. I bought this same set and I love them. I have two other powder brushes which I love as well. I love the buffing brush for foundation and to apply cream blush. I don't really use the foundation or detailer brush though. I wasn't really a fan of those. I do use the detailer brush as a lip brush sometimes though and it seems to work great for that. :)
