What's in your Pocket?

Recently, I was contacted by Money Supermarket to take part in a competition they are running; all centered around life's little wins. Even though January is over, the winter blues is still in full force and people are struggling with money so money supermarket came up with a feel good experiment where they hid cameras in a busy dry cleaners and told customer's that they left a £20 note in their pocket by mistake. They then caught their reactions on video, so take a look here.

It goes to show how little things can brighten up a person's day and that we should celebrate the joy! We've all experienced the momentary joy of finding money in our pockets or in an old purse that we're chucking out and it's about celebrating moments like that and not dwelling on the bad. Anyway money supermarket wanted to spread the joy and gave me £20 to spend on whatever I want.

In keeping with Money Supermarkets ethos of saving money and getting quality; I decided to spend my £20 on some budget beauty bargains and I find the best place to do that is Boots. So today, I popped in and picked up the Real Techniques stippling brush, the Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang, the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 01 and the Rimmel waterproof eye definer liner in noir. As you can probably tell boots had a 3 for 2 on Rimmel Products! So this came in to a grand total of £23.47. Which is an absolute bargain and really brightened up my day.

Real Techniques Stippling brush: £11.99*

Ever since I got my core collection real techniques brushes for Christmas (see review here) I have lusted after this one; and today finally snapped it up. I've read so many amazing reviews online and have genuinely never read a negative review, so I can't wait to use this with a liquid foundation. This stippling brush has dual-fibers and is really soft as well.

Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang £5.99*

I picked up the Rimmel Apocalips in big bang. It is a really pigmented colour and stays on extremely well. I haven't had time to give it a proper review, but so far I'm so impressed and it lasts really long, without smudging. It has a nice wand applicator as well, which is always handy for on the go top ups, not that I think topping up is necessary with this product!

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 01: £5.49*

When Rimmel launched the Kate Moss lipsticks, everyone went crazy for them, but I've only recently had the chance to check it out. I picked up 01 and it is a gorgeous red shade. It's really pigmented and smells amazing. It has a vanilla tint to the scent and I love the packaging.

Rimmel exaggerate waterproof eye definer in noir: £3.99*

This eyeliner is a product that I think doesn't get enough hype. It's the Rimmel exaggerate waterproof eye definer in noir. Again, I haven't had long enough to test it out properly, but from what I have tried it goes on really well and very smoothly. It's easy to apply and has a smudger at the end to create a smokey eye.

So, there you all have it, my budget beauty purchases from today! Sorry, that it was a bit of a long one, but I had lots to tell you. Honestly, check out the money supermarket little wins campaign here, as it does put a smile on your face.

What do you all think of the campaign and my purchases?  If any other bloggers have taken part, please leave a link to the post below so I can have a nosey!
